Cyrus Great Ascends the Throne Carpet Panel

A historical scene: Cyrus the Achaemenid emperor is depicted with his courtiers as he sits on the throne in the Palace of Apadana at Persepolis.
The borders of the rug portray in cuneiform the text of the Charter of the Freedom of Nations which Cyrus signed to liberate the various nations of the Persian empire from bondage, while the touch at the top contains the same text in modern Persian script.
The rug is adapted from a French painting.
