Inlaid Mosaics Carpet

Here Master Arabzadeh has transferred onto the warps and wefts of the rug a pattern from the domain of  Khatam or the craft of inlaid mosics. The smallest unit of the design is the triangle, and triangles of walnut wood, brass and bone are juxtaposed to create the motifs, and then the overall design. the rug emulates the colours and the geometrical patterns of a typical Khatam cigarette box.
