Seyd abolfat-Rasam Arabzadeh was born in 1914 in Tabriz. He spent his childhood with his kind and artistic father in slow-moving world, full of imagination, learning patterns and recognizing colors. Through his father, a master of every art, he became familiar with sculpture, music, poetry and literature, tile design and calligraphy.
he began to receive academic training in design and painting. Up until then, carpets had been woven in traditional way. However, with his increasing experience, he planned to produce artistic carpets. By combining tradition with artistic innovations in carpet patterns, he brought philosophy and literature into the world of carpets and so changed a thousand year’s old style. in the exhibition of his carpets fours and against stood opposite of each other in a new alignment. The borders of literature, philosophy and mysticism were opened to him through the creation of new masterpieces.”Shams” and “Moulana” inspired him like the moon and the sun, and began to speak through his artistic fingers in the form of carpets.
He has since continued in his modest way and has portrayed his enthusiasm and the message of his carpets for thousands of people now, with constant repetition, his words have become reality. The artistic and cultural carpet foundation of Rasam Arabzadeh has been created with the unsparing support of the mayor of Tehran. The old master of carpets has donated 66 pieces of his valuable collection to the Iranian nation to mark his respect for this noble art.
