The Ceiling of the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque

Another Arabzadeh rug was inspired by the Safavid mosques in Isfahan. The design and the colours closely follow the 17th century original in all its richness.

The perfect roundness of the circle was a major concern of the master,  who allowed his weavers to work no more than two hours on the rug each day, at midday when they were right in their paces —  neither too fresh and vigorous nor too tired.
