A pair of lavishly – decorated doors that once belonged to the Safavid Palace of Chehel–Sotun ( Forty Columns ) and are now on display in a museum in England has served as the starting point for the design of this find rug.
The hanging lantern that Rassam has added to the composition may be regarded as his artistic signature.
