A Waiting for nothing Carpet Panel

The rug illustrates a couplet from Hafez the famous sonneteer from Shiraz whose poems have long inspired master Arabzadeh: How long are you going to wait at the gates of the ruthless money men to see if they will emerge?

A combination of the rug and Kilim weaving techniques has been used here.

The mansion’s walls and the dozing dervish and his dog also sleeping next to him have been woven as a rug with piled knots that stand out from the background which has been woven in falt weave typical of a kilim.
